AILSA ALEGRÍA HUERTA

I am a first-generation Mexican-American creative, carrying the roots and joy of my culture into my work and serving as a bridge between two worlds. Spanish was my first language, and growing up bilingual broadened my perception of the world. I’m grateful that it’s opened me up to so many people from all walks of life and enhanced my range of perspectives and ideas.

As a storyteller, I aim to bridge the gap between people around the world and remind us that we are much more similar than different. I approach my work with a sense of curiosity and empathy, and I am excited to build a kinder, more fun world through my projects.

3. Thrifting

As a fashion & sustainability enthusiast, I always find myself at thrift stores or at thrifting events. I love the community aspect of thrifting in PDX too, so I always have the best time supporting local markets :)

4. Traveling

“Travel is about the gorgeous feeling of teetering in the unknown.” - Anthony Bourdain

Costa Rica 2025:

I got over my fear of heights, tried plantains for the first time (highly recommend), and explored the local towns. #PuraVida

I find so much inner fulfillment by venturing out and expanding my horizons, even if it means stepping outside my comfort zone. Traveling and immersing myself in different customs worldwide has allowed me to gain a greater appreciation for humanity, Mother Earth, and the little moments in life.
